Analysis of linear permanent magnet switched reluctance motors with modular and segmental movers

Here, the authors propose two new Permanent Magnet (PM) embedded linear switched reluctance motors; one is a modular hybrid motor (MLHRM), and other segmental (SLHRM). Both structures employ PMs between side teeth of modules/segments. The main contribution to increase air-gap flux density, which results in an enhanced thrust, decrease magnetic saturation iron parts. equivalent circuit model used demonstrate positive effect inserting MLHRM SLHRM compared their PMless counterparts. optimal pole number design procedure are illustrated. simulation obtained terms static linkage, density distributions, steady-state current thrust. show that proposed offer higher thrust lower form. Also, root mean square (RMS) under performance motors, produced with RMS current. Finally, fabricated test simulations, illustrate satisfactory agreement.
